HEAD TO TOE CASUAL LOOK

Last week’s chill taught us one thing.

Stylish warm pieces are essential. Right now, it’s all about those fancy '70s-ish, puff-sleeved sweaters. Our favorites thus far are by Doen. The minimalist designs feature a gentle princess bell sleeve so they don’t look too overwhelming. Pair this rose colored one with wide leg jeans. Since there’s possible rain in the forecast, opt for a cool puffer jacket like this one from Ganni. For shoes, play it safe and pair this look with a pair of monochromatic Nike high-tops.

HEAD TO TOE PARTY LOOK

'Tis the season for all things shiny and sparkly.

The key to festive party dressing is to opt for pieces that have flair, but don’t appear overly ostentatious. After all, there is nothing worse than arriving at an already-awkward holiday party and unintentionally standing out in the crowd (or getting mistaken for the Christmas tree). Start with a great sequined skirt that you can tone down with a black sweater. We love Rachel Zoe's 'Finn' style. The gold sequins trimmed with sheer black chiffon along the mini hem make this skirt more rock’n roll then over-the-top girly. For a less expensive version, check out this one. To tone down the look, you can opt for a button down shirt or a fitted fine knit black sweater. Pair with either black booties or heels. Opt for a good matching mani/pedi in our favorite Oxblood gel color. Finish the look with one standout accessory: gold hoops. What’s more is that you can even rock this skirt for less fancy gatherings with a black sweatshirt and combat boots and a pair of trusty black tights.

DFTW GIFTED: GIFT OF WIT

This is the first installment for Dress for the Weather’s “Gifted” series. From now until Christmas, you’ll receive a cool daily gift idea that will get those hard-to-shop-for folks crossed off from your gift list!

With a few weeks left before the gifting season, Bow & Drape’s fun personalized items are perfect for our inaugural feature. Choose from a range of stylish garments and goods. They have everything from the quintessential crew neck sweatshirt to totes and beanies. First pick your font style. Next, pick a witty slogan. Choose your own witticism or search the site’s extensive “inspo” section for fun pop-culture ideas (we’re personally fans of the “You had me at Merlot” motto) Bow & Drape will then emblazon it all on the garment. You can even add fun emoji-like designs, if you wish to be a little “extra”. We can’t think of a cuter gift for your besties, sister or mama. Order now to leave ample time for receipt by Christmas.
