HEAD TO TOE WORK LOOK

A modern pinstripe suit will take you through the rest of winter and right into spring.

A far cry from the power-suit of the ’80s (although we still have a soft spot for Tess McGill’s Working Girl shoulder pads), today’s two-piece combos feel modern and dare-we-say-it: cool. Take Tibi’s pinstripe version, for example. The silk crepe de chine fabric and the tapered pant leg feel so fresh. Pair with a cashmere sweater under the jacket, metallic loafers, a wool coat and a structured tote, and you’re ready for the office. We’re already daydreaming about how we’ll dress the suit down come spring with the perfect tee and espadrille sandals.

HEAD TO TOE CASUAL DAY

We love a good sweater and jeans look, but why not try a new cold weather solution?

Since they came out, we haven’t been able to stop thinking about these amazing overalls by MiH. The slim silhouette (thanks to the stretch-denim material) and flared leg fit in perfectly with the '70s vibes happening in fashion right now. And, the fit-and-flare cut is surprisingly flattering, giving you that legs-for-days look, especially when worn with a heeled shoe. You may want to save this look for a day when all-weather flat boots aren’t a necessity. Pair with a slim black turtleneck sweater underneath and an oversized (faux) fur coat or shearling. A cross-body saddle bag like this chain strap version by Chloe is the perfect option. We also love this style, which happens to be on super sale. Try a matte nude lip; we love Nars’ Velvet Matte pencil in either Belle de Jour or Rose Beige .

IF YOU COULD ONLY BUY ONE PIECE

Geometric earrings are back, judging by the Spring/Summer magazine spreads. Considering that dangling earrings and long bar studs aren’t that practical for wearing with your hat and scarf, this trend’s timing couldn’t be more perfect. Our favorite take thus far is Vita Fede’s Cubo earrings. Choose from a dark stone, lighter stone , or even the diamond-encrusted cube. And with the temperatures dropping this week, these earrings are the perfect update to your winter wardrobe, giving it an undeniably cool edge. Not to mention, they’re just the thing to cheer up your heavy coats, sweaters, and such with a flash of shine on these wintry days.
