HEAD TO TOE WORK LOOK

This week’s hot and humid weather calls for simple, lightweight pieces to wear to the office.

This Tibi skirt is made from very lightweight silk, and has a longer length and elegant fullness. Since fuller skirts can look frumpy with the wrong pairings, go for a streamlined silhouette on top, such as this ASOS sleeveless blouse. Be sure to fully tuck it into the skirt to show off your waistline (though the blouse’s split back looks adorable un-tucked over skinny pants, as well). The red Rebecca Minkoff tote adds a necessary pop of color. For your (possibly drizzly) commute, wear a pair of black leather sandals. Once at the office, a stylish yet comfy pair of wedge sandals is the way to go. We adore this black and white, dotted pair by Moschino. Don’t forget a jacket to protect yourself from over-air-conditioned cubicles. We love how this vaguely army style by Current/Elliott adds a bit of edge to this otherwise feminine look.

HEAD TO TOE NIGHT OUT

It’s going to be humid this week. Ugh.

When dressing for hot weather along with possible rain showers, we find it helpful to plan our outfit around our hairdo. For instance, a messy topknot is perfect for this type of weather - it looks sophisticated and cool at the same time it keeps your hair under control from the humidity.  Sure, it’s a bit of an unorthodox approach, but it’ll make you look much more put-together and chic at night than trying to rock frizzy/lanky tresses. To compliment your bun, opt for simple pieces that are fitted with stylish details like this fitted mini skirt with a bit of flare at the hemline. (An added bonus is that this type of cut means the material won’t stick too much to your skin.) Finish the look off with some sandals and a clutch in a bright color and you’re ready to go. If you want to add an additional layer, we’re loving an army-inspired vest instead of the typical denim variety.  And use a Blax rubberband to keep your bun looking fashionable.***

**Shu Uemura's Essence Absolute Oil in Cream is the BEST product. The only one that puts frizzy hair in check. We love it.

WHERE TO BUY

GARNIER FRUCTIS Volume extend instant bodifier dry shampoo for fine or flat hair, soap.com

Freshly washed hair is especially vulnerable to humidity-induced frizziness. Avoid this mess altogether (and get a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning) by using a dry shampoo. We love this spray version by Garnier Fructis. It sprays a fine mist of oil-absorbing powder throughout the hair without leaving residue, so it’s great for all hair colors. It also adds volume and body to flat hair. Best of all, it smells good—kind of fruity, but not overwhelmingly so.
