HEAD TO TOE WORK LOOK

This week’s spring-like temperatures have us ditching the layers in favor of a more polished, streamlined look.

We love a sleek, all-black ensemble for the office. But instead of the requisite slim black trousers, opt for a hybrid pair with a cool skirt overlay, like this one by Aussie label C/Meo Collective (Psst! Check out the rest of their super chic and wallet-friendly collection). For work, pair with an unfussy top like a black sleeveless mock turtleneck or a white sleeveless blouse. For evening, wear a black camisole. These point-toe Nicholas Kirkwood flats are an elegant addition, especially with their subtle gold heel detailing. For a little height, choose black pumps. Gold jewelry and a camel coat or a faux-suede trench keep the look sophisticated. Go for a black tote like Balenciaga’s Le Dix style or this great steal by Furla with a similar look.

HEAD TO TOE CASUAL LOOK

It’s going to be in the 60s. 'Nuff said.

We recently spotted a stylish mom wearing the cutest outfit built around this jumpsuit by Monrow, which is perfect to wear now throughout the spring season. This week, throw on a fitted blue sweater to stay warm. Note that the blue-on-blue tones are extremely flattering and make the outfit complete. This style by J. Crew is roomy enough to layer over a jumpsuit without looking sloppy or bulky. With the chance of sporadic rain throughout the week, step into a pair of waterproof ankle boots, such as this mushroom-color pair by Blondo. (Or bust these out). This navy tote keeps with the blue monochromatic look. Finish the look off with a military style coat and minimal jewelry.

IF YOU COULD ONLY BUY ONE PAIR OF JEANS

Chances are you spotted the hot, new denim silhouette on every major fashion editor and blogger attending NYFW. They’re slightly high-waisted, slim but not skinny (there may even be a little flare), and cropped with frayed or fringed edges. Their wash is reminiscent of your worn-in, trusty pair of vintage Levis from high school, and like any good pair of denim, they look amazing with everything. For now, we like pairing ours with ankle boots, a ’70s inspired floral blouse, and a cool coat. Come spring, we’ll team them with a leather or bomber jacket plus white sneakers,  loafers, or mules like these or these. Below are a few of our favorite picks of these new “it” jeans. For more inspiration on how to rock them, check out Blue is in Fashion This Year.
