IF YOU COULD ONLY BUY JUST ONE PIECE

If you’re sick of the ubiquitous “arm party” trend, why not try a hand party? The freshest way to wear jewelry is to layer lots of delicate rings on multiple fingers. For an extra cool look, mix in a few first knuckle rings. Catbird, a Williamsburg shop with a namesake jewelry line, does them best. But other labels like Stella and Bow and Jacquie Aiche are doing beautiful versions, as well. Choose from a variety of sizes, metals and embellishments, but keep the look light. No chunky cocktail rings.

HEAD TO TOE CASUAL DAY

We hate to admit it, but the weather is still nasty. This week shows temperature drops in the evening and rain showers.

You’ll want to avoid exposing too much skin.  A pale blue button-down top is such a stand-by piece for transitioning into a new season. With a light splash of color and clean lines, it gives your winter wardrobe a spring-ish lift. We are all about this one by Golden Goose. The fit is phenom, and the dot pattern is right in line with the spring prints trend. Pair with skinny jeans in a clean, dark wash. To keep the look from feeling too wintery and heavy, opt for shoes with perforated details such as this pair by Dolce Vita or Isabel Marant’s latest take on the sneaker wedge. At the beginning of the week, you may want to swap those out for well-worn leather booties—just in case of rain. Regardless of shoe selection, finish off the look with some fun outerwear like this Rag & Bone trench, which features leather sleeves and this season’s oversized fit. We also covet this similar parka by Zara. Just make sure to have a gray sweater on hand for layering over your button-down so you can show off your fashion chops without being cold.

HEAD TO TOE CASUAL WORK

Paired with the right accessories, this patchwork chambray dress instantly becomes office appropriate.

Chambray has the reputation as a “weekend fabric.” But, the tidy silhouette of this 3.1 Phillip Lim dress with its graphic color-blocking makes it a no-brainer for a casual work environment—especially when paired with a navy blazer, satchel-style leather bag and pointed-toe pumps. Black wool tights winterize the look for this week’s forecast. But in a month or two, try the look with bare legs and white pumps, like this pair by Alexander Wang. Or, try it with flat, minimalist sandals for a casual weekend look. Top of the look with simple silver jewelry that doesn’t compete with the dress’s bold design.
