HEAD TO TOE TRAVEL LOOK

Fuss-free airport dressing always trumps looking overly dressed and feeling uncomfortable.

The key is light-weight layering to ensure you get the most the millage out of your outfit choice. The outfit you wear on the plane needs to be comfortable and practical. We love the idea of wearing cool sweatpants, like this pair by Alala, so you can actually relax in your seat. On your trip, you can re-wear them for the gym or downstairs at breakfast. If you’re traveling with kids, this t-shirt with the slogan Trouble Maker should clear the air with any of the passengers next to you. Over top, opt for a button down chambray shirt that can be worn throughout the trip as well. The next key item is that all-purpose, snuggly knit cardigan that doubles as a robe/blanket when it gets chilly on the plane. These cool sneakers can be worn with all types of outfits and can be easily slipped on and off to get through the security line. A backpack or oversized carry-on is a must.

HEAD TO TOE CASUAL LOOK

Sorry, folks. Spring weather isn’t knocking at the door just yet.

But you don’t have to wait for sunny skies and 60 + temperatures to start incorporating some spring trends into your wardrobe right now. Two of our favorites? Pastels and checks. Perfect for creating a completely weather-appropriate outfit that still feels fresh. Start with this Cotton Citizen lilac sweatshirt and opt for a pair of light colored jeans. For a cute weekend look, try wearing the sweatshirt with matching joggers and sneakers (like the ones from our travel look above). Throw on a check coat - we love this double-breasted style from By Malene Birger. The neutral shades really let the pastels pop. White boots are still going strong and this sturdy style with their South Western flare is perfect for the week’s potential precipitation. Continue the pastel theme with JW Anderson’s periwinkle blue suede Disc bag and yellow tinted sunglass lenses. Most of these pieces will easily transition into the warmer months and we’ll be as excited to wear them then as now!

THROW SOME SHADE

Bold shades abounded on the Spring/Summer 2018 catwalks. From the ornately embellished frames at Dolce & Gabbana, to the brightly tinted lenses seen at the houses of Dior and Gucci (check out the awesome yellow-lensed pair by Illesteva, featured above), we were most struck by the retro cat-eye styles dominating the runways of Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga. At first, we weren’t so sure about these petite, exaggeratedly angled frames. Are they cool or a bit silly? But as we’ve seen some of the world’s most stylish women (and even a Hadid or two) sporting them time-and-again at both New York and Paris fashion weeks, our opinion has changed. These sunglasses have a way of instantly updating your otherwise stale outfit. They add a cool edge to everything from athlesisure looks (think hoodie, joggers, sneakers and a parka) to ladylike spring dresses. Our personal favorite pair is The Last Lolita style from designer Adam Selman’s collaboration with Le Specs. The $120 price-tag makes them an affordable “splurge” for spring that you won’t regret.
