LABEL TO WATCH: KATHERINE KWEI

If we could piece together the handbag collection of our dreams, it might just be that of Katherine Kwei. Inspired by her Chinese heritage (Kwei’s grandmother taught her the art of Chinese “knotting” from a young age), in addition to her years spent working with luxury brand Louis Vuitton, Kwei artistically blends modernity and tradition into a range of highly coveted handbags. While the Chinese “eternity” knot is the hallmark of many of Kwei’s styles, all utilize luxe materials to create lively texture.

With wedding season on the near horizon, we’re specifically entranced by Kwei’s amazing clutches and pouchettes that will take any outfit to the next level (even jeans and a tee).

HEAD TO TOE WEDDING COCKTAIL LOOK

Oh, that "must-spend-a-lot-on-a-dress" mentality. Everyone thinks fashion needs to be about swank, upscale things.

But we’ve found that the best dressed often aren’t wearing designer head to toe. Especially when a wedding calls for festive, cocktail attire. The best-kept secret for great, affordable dresses: The Reformation. We love all their styles but are especially digging the Roslie dress. You’ll wear this beauty plenty of times after the wedding. Caveat emptor: you’ll need a good backless bra. While we love these Valentino sandals, you might not want to steal the bride’s thunder, so we suggest pairing the dress with a gold or nude shoe. We love the Legwrap Sandal from Stuart Weitzman, Kayden from Jimmy Choo, Pour La Victoire's Shanna sandals, this pair by Alaïa, or Barneys New York sandals. For accessories, keep it minimal. We love the look of a pearl cuff earring. You can also do simple drops. Pack a nude lipstick color inside a Katherine Kwei Donna box clutch. Finish the look off with a cool braid in your hair done at Barrett's Braids (John Barrett salon, 754 5th Ave. at 57th St., (212-872-2700).

HEAD TO TOE WEDDING FORMAL LOOK

Be the best-dressed guest! Not that it’s a competition or anything.

For a formal affair, look for a gown in a standout color, print or silhouette to set you apart from the crowd. We love this Jarlo Lily gown because it manages to feel elegant, fun and on-trend all at the same time. With the right accessories, no one will ever know it cost under $200! A knockout pair of heeled sandals is a must. If you’re height-challenged, opt for a platform style. We love the ’70s vibe of these outrageously sexy, metallic Gucci platforms. For something a little more subtle, we love these delicate cross-strapped ties of this style by Aquazzura. If you’re looking to hit the dance floor, keep it under 3” in these Loeffler Randalls   (an absolute wardrobe must-have). We’re obsessed with this jewel-like clutch by Katherine Kwei. The opalescent white really pops against the shade of the dress and feels so light and summer-y. Jewelry that walks the line between delicate and funky is the way to go. Try mismatched pearl earrings and a delicate hand-chain.
