HEAD TO TOE CASUAL

OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS ARE A STYLISH AND WARM OPTION FOR CRISP FALL DAYS.

Over-the-knee boots are often associated with extreme vampishness. But when done in a neutral color suede and with a flat heel, they suddenly become a fabulous daytime option. Unexpectedly versatile, they look great over skinny jeans, or paired with a mini skirt, as we have done. Be sure to choose a skirt in a decidedly daytime fabrication or pattern like this plaid skort by Zara. A boxy, cable knit sweater tempers the innate sexiness of the boots-and-mini combo and adds a casual vibe. Pair with a boyfriend-style wool coat, suede backpack, and oversized shades. Be sure to swap out your suede boots with cool rain boots later in the week, as we’re expecting showers. This pair by Sloosh Italy has a similar vibe that complements the ensemble.

HEAD TO TOE GOING OUT

A MAXI SKIRT HAS THAT SOPHISTICATED EDGE PERFECT FOR WEARING OUT NOW.

Before snow and sleet make longer styles difficult to wear (hello, damp hemlines!), you should go for a statement skirt. We love this chic one by DKNY. The sheer, lace overlay creates a covered-up, yet tastefully revealing peak-a-boo effect. Pair with all-black pieces to amplify the sophistication of the look. If wearing a camisole on its own leaves you feeling chilly, layer a slim-fit black sweater on top for added warmth. Isabel Marant’s shearling coat would be our dream jacket pairing, but we also love this far more wallet-friendly style with equally cool styling. For this week’s cool evenings, you may want to add a pair of sheer black stockings with your ankle boots. Top off the look with an au current ear cuff and deep blue nail lacquer.

NOVEMBER MUST-HAVES

FOUR COOL PIECES TO WEAR RIGHT NOW BEFORE THE COLD SNAP

1. SLIP-ON SNEAKERS

A classic shape upgraded with luxe details such as faux pony hair in leopard patterns. Perfect to wear before the cold forces you into high-tops. Not to mention, great for traveling.

2. ONE STATEMENT EARRING

An on-trend ear cuff gives you a punk edge without the piercings. Wear this on one ear and a diamond bar on the other. Or try another statement like this one.

3. ROBE-INSPIRED COAT

Style and warmth go hand in hand with a robe-inspired coat. The look is a pulled-together chic. Layer over a sweater to keep warm as the temperature drops.

4. BASEBALL HAT

Before it gets too cold to expose ears, tap into this season’s must-have accessory. A baseball hat can be worn with anything in your wardrobe this season (even dresses).
