HEAD TO TOE CASUAL LOOK

A sweater coat is the perfect piece of outerwear for this week’s mild yet chilly temperatures.

Nothing reads fall quite like a cozy knit sweater coat. It’s a great wardrobe piece for transitional fall weather, before heavy winter coats are needed. Invest in a neutral color style like this one by Vince to get the most wear, though there are plenty of fun patterned versions on the market now, as well. Pair the oversized sweater with skinny jeans or leather leggings to keep a flattering silhouette. For temperatures in the 60s, all you need to wear underneath is a long-sleeve tee.  On cooler days, layering is key. Start with a lightweight turtleneck or long-sleeve tee, and add a denim button-down on top. Finish off with a chunky infinity scarf and a beanie, if necessary. Pair with sturdy ankle boots like this western-inspired, faux-snakeskin pair. They add “oomph” without detracting from the cool neutral palette.

HEAD TO TOE

WORK -DRINKS

To make getting dressed for work a bit more fun, try a two-tone dress in black and white.

We covet this version by Marc by Marc Jacobs for both the black and white color blocking and the classic ‘60s silhouette, with its flattering and timeless nipped-in waist and A-line. For this week’s weather, pair this dress with high-heeled booties and a jacket in a bold color like red. Finish the look off with cool bracelets. For those who work in more conservative offices, swap the booties for pumps. Not to mention, this dress also looks amazing with Chelsea boots!

ELIZABETH AND JAMES Sash snake d'orsay pumps, shopbop.com

Conservative dressing doesn’t have to be boring. You can always add an accessory like a great pump in a high-contrasting hue or print—as long as it is in a professional style and shape. Case in point: these pumps by Elizabeth and James with a contrasting color covering the toe. The subtle pop of color brings a chic factor to any minimalist work look. Before the weather gets too cold for exposing any part of your legs, wear tailored cropped wool pants with a cashmere sweater to offset these fashion-forward pumps.
