As the weather starts getting too chilly for open-toe sandals, add high-top sneakers to your fall shoe rotation.  They’re every fashion lover’s dream come true: a stylish look that is comfortable enough for our hectic daily lifestyle in the city. Everyone from YSL to Isabel Marant to Jimmy Choo is doing a version (heck, even Nike is being sold on net-a-porter.com!), but Golden Goose offers one of the most comfortable and on-trend solutions. Wear with skinny jeans (in either a faded blue or black wash) and a simple T-shirt. Pair with a leather or tweed blazer for this week’s chillier evenings.

CASUAL LOOK

A hooded sweater vest is a great transitional piece for fall.

With highs in the low 70s and plenty of sun, a leather jacket can sometimes feel too warm at midday. This funky patchwork vest by Thakoon Addition is a perfect outerwear solution. Wear it now layered over a simple T-shirt. Later, wear it over a fitted, long-sleeved knit tee or even atop a thin army or leather jacket. We paired the look with burgundy-coated jean leggings that have a similar look to leather, but are a more relaxed option. Black, gray or blue skinny jeans look equally as cool (even black leggings work well). We love the unexpected addition of a pair of laid-back moccasin booties, in place of flats or heeled ankle boots (not that those options wouldn’t be adorable). The medium black leather tote by Vanessa Bruno is a stylish and understated must for running errands around the city.

GOING OUT

With the pleasant temperatures this week, a colorful skirt is the perfect go-to piece.

Now's the time to wear those summer pieces you love before it's time to store them away until next year. The silk and lace fabric combo of this Coco skirt by Satine Label is perfect for bridging the changing seasons. The bright color also works as a nice reprieve from the black you’ll be wearing once the weather gets really cold. It's a surprisingly easy anchor piece when you pair it with non-fussy touches like a white T-shirt, black heels, and a leather jacket. You can also add some fun to the mix with cool heels and an interesting patterned clutch.
